On June 13, 2024, the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FOMS), KBN University, hosted a celebration of International Yoga Day and a Yoga Training Programme in the Amphitheatre on the UNiversity campus. The event was led by the resource person, Shraddha S. Hale, who holds an MA in YogShatra and a Diploma in Yoga Education, as well as a Certificate Course in Female Menstrual Cycle Problems from Yog Vidya Gurukul, Nashik.
The programme began with the yoga teacher demonstrating various loosening exercises, Yogic Sukshmavyayama, Yogic Asanas, and breathing practices, which the students then practiced under her guidance.
The loosening exercises included neck movements, shoulder movements, trunk movements, and knee bending. The Yogic Sukshmavyayama incorporated Budhushaktivikasak, Netrashaktivikasak, and Katishaktivikasak. The Yogic Asanas included Vajrasana, Paad-Hastasana, Ardhashlabhasana, Ardhabhujangasana, Ardhakatichakrasana, and Shavasana. The breathing practice involved breath observation and deep breathing exercises.
The event was a celebration of the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga, and provided an opportunity for the students to engage in a guided yoga practice and learn from an experienced yoga teacher.
