Day 3 Online workshop On Advanced IPR Training: Drafting And Case Studies

Day-3 on 05-09-2024 Session started with welcome speech by Dr.Mohd Nazeeruddin (program coordinator).


On the final day of the workshop, Mr. Sidharaj Kumbhar, a respected resource person, led a discussion on a fascinating case study involving an Engineer and Doctor who collaborated to obtain a patent on cervical attachment. This innovative partnership showcased the potential for interdisciplinary collaboration in producing ground breaking patents.


Mr. Kumbhar highlighted the unique position of KBN University, which offers programs in medical, engineering, and science fields.


He emphasized the university's ability to generate numerous patents through the synergy of these diverse disciplines.


During the session, participants had the opportunity to ask questions about patents, drawing from their initial queries submitted through the registration Google form.This interactive exchange provided valuable insights into the patent application process.


Dr. Santosh Madki then shared his personal experience of developing a revolutionary shirt button that can be attached without stitching. Inspired by a screw mechanism commonly used in ear piercings.


Dr. Madki's innovative design has since been patented. His story underscored the importance of drawing inspiration from unexpected sources in the pursuit of ground breaking inventions.


In her valedictory speech, Dean of Research and Convenor, Dr. Rajshree Paladi, emphasized the importance of conducting research-oriented initiatives at the university.


She praised the Chancellor of the university, Honourable Hazrat Syed Shah Gesudaraz Khurso Hussaini Sir, for his commitment to promoting research activities and Pro-Chancellor of the university, Honourable Hazrat Syed Muhammad Ali Al Hussaini Sir, for getting more and more patents and to focus on the field of research and development. The Vice-Chancellor, of the university, Prof. Ali Raza Moosvi sir, also showed a keen interest in supporting these efforts.


Dr. Rajshree Paladi highlighted the Chancellor sir's desire for the university to obtain patents for innovations that benefit society. She acknowledged that without the support and encouragement of the management team, the program would not have been as successful.

She commended the resource person,Er. Sidharaj Kumbhar for his extensive knowledge of intellectual property rights, which greatly enhanced the participants understanding of the subject.


Dr. Rajshree Paladi also praised the efforts of Coordinator Dr. Mohd Nazeeruddin and his team for meticulously organizing the workshop.


She noted that the workshop's timing from 7:30 to 8:30 was carefully chosen to accommodate female staff members' household responsibilities.


Dr. Rajshree Paladi announced that KBN University would soon establish standard operating procedures for patenting and research activities, as well as provide seed funding for new innovations.


Dr. Rajshree Paladi expressed her satisfaction with the workshop's high attendance, with 65 to 75 participants present each day. She believed that the program helped the university identify the untapped potential of its faculty members. She concluded by stating that the workshop coincided with Teacher's Day, enhancing


the teachers' skills and serving as a meaningful celebration of their contributions.


Lastly the session was concluded with Vote of Thanks from Mrs. Tabassum Nahid sultana(program coordinating committee member).
