World Health Day - 2025 Poster Competition

Poster competition was organized under the guidance of Dr. Guruprasad K. Y. Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences, KBN University, for MBBS Phase-III, Part-I students to mark the occasion of World Health Day 2025 on 08-04-2025. The event was designed to raise awareness about Maternal & Child Health issues and encourage creativity and engagement among medical students in presenting the Health issues through visual media.
Objectives: The poster competition aimed to:
Promote Awareness: Raise awareness about key health issues, such as non-communicable diseases, global health crises, mental health, and public health policy.
Encourage Creativity: Provide an opportunity for medical students to express complex health topics visually, enhancing their communication skills in the process.
Highlight World Health Day Theme: Focus on the 2025 World Health Day theme, which emphasizes "Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures"
Participants were encouraged to reflect the subtopic “Efforts to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths, and to prioritize women's long-term health and well-being” in their posters.
Students registered for the competition as a team of 2 students and came prepared with the posters on the day of competition. The posters were evaluated by Dr. Zeenath Begum, Professor, Department of Pathology and Dr. Zainab Gazala, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, based on the set of criteria given.
Outcome and Impact:
Increased Awareness: The event successfully highlighted various topics relevant to the theme of World Health Day 2025, sparking important discussions among students and faculty members.
Creativity Boost: Students demonstrated impressive creativity and thoughtfulness in their posters, offering fresh perspectives on Maternal & Child health challenges.
Engagement: The interactive nature of the event helped students hone their communication skills and made them more conscious of the visual representation of public health issues.
The result of the poster competition will be announced and prizes will be distributed in valedictory programme which will be held along with the Community Medicine Postgraduate Alumni Meet programme later this month.The whole event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Shahnaz Shaheen, Professor & I/C HOD and Dr. M A Fahim, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, FOMS, KBN University.
