An health awareness programme was organized on the occasion of World Oral Health Day by department of Community Medicine at Anganwadi Centre (Azadpur village) on 12/09/2024 under the guidance of Dr. Siddesh Sirwar, Dean, FOMS, KBN University.
Programme was organized with the objectives of creating awareness regarding importance of oral hygiene, particularly dental hygiene among anganwadi children and workers.
The programme initiated by felicitation of Anganwadi Teachers and ASHA worker of the Anganwadi centre. There was a talk on oral hygiene and dental hygiene by Dr. M A Fahim and then children were also shown an educational clip on dental hygiene for prevention of oral cavity diseases. Later an awareness talk on Hand Hygiene was also given by Interns of Community Medicine department. Children were taught about when to wash hands, what happens if they don’t wash hands properly and proper hand washing techniques were demonstrated.
This occasion was also utilized for dental check up, health check up and nutritional assessment of the Anganwadi children.
Toothpaste and toothbrush were given to all the Anganwadi children. Programme was concluded with vote of thanks to Anganwadi Teacher, ASHA worker, Teachers of the school attached to Anganwadi, Aaya Maa, etc. by Dr. M A Fahim, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, FOMS, KBN University.
